Bible Wednesday 6/15: Something about Them

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 110:1-7. Verse 4, Jesus as our high priest forever. Why does this matter in what I say and do and deal with today, a low-church Protestant raised with no need of priests?

I Samuel 9:1-27. Saul, the impressive young man who is soon to be king: tall, handsome, resourceful, confident. But what is God actually looking for in those he marks out for leadership and special trust?

Acts 4:13-22. Verse 13, related question, what qualities—including, but not limited to, talking the talk—must I ask God to help me manifest so as to be recognizable as someone who has been with Jesus?

John 19:38-42. Nicodemus, a hesitant seeker earlier in Jesus’ ministry, now courageously helps with his burial. What was one of the moments I’ll always remember as a turning point for me becoming all-in for the Lord?
