Bible Sunday 8/28: Satan Routed

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 143:1-12. Verse 5 KJV, meditating and musing on God’s works, never taking them for granted. How shall I go about doing that today? How will my day be better as a result?

II Kings 6:1-33. Verses 15-17, do I in any way feel outnumbered, encircled by enemy chariots? If I let God open my eyes spiritually, what might I see instead? First step today?

Job 2:1-13. Verses 9 and 10, when has my faith in God put me at odds with a family member or close friend? What did I learn? Present application?

Luke 4:1-15. Jesus repulses Satan three times with God’s word from Scripture. What sword and shield from the Bible shall I take as my protection today?
