Bible Saturday 8/13: Not Pass Away

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 13, 21, 29, 43, when have I gone (or am I even now going) in circles with God, repeatedly forgetting and remembering him? What can break the cycle and anchor me closer to him?

I Kings 13:1-34. King Jeroboam ignores God’s warnings; sin and death in the realm. What specific choice will I face today between doing His will or doing my own?

Acts 21:15-36. Romans rescue Paul from a Jerusalem mob. Recently have I been taking risks for Jesus or playing it safe?

Mark 13:28-37. Verse 31, what words of Jesus shall I cling to today—to protect me, correct me, provide for me, and guide me?
