Bible Tuesday 8/9: Aim High

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 95:1-11. Verse 6, kneel before the Lord. What posture of my body do I find most conducive to prayer? Does it matter? Action point?

I Kings 9:1-28. God approvingly hallows the temple, but warns Israel that disobedience will spell disaster. If God’s love for us is not unconditional, why is it worth having? Is it even really love?

II Peter 3:1-18. Verse 8, existing outside time, God can lengthen or shorten it to suit his purpose. What’s the present application for me?

Mark 12:38-13:2. A widow gives God her all. What’s one practical step I can take in that direction right now?
