Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 92:1-15. Verse 4 KJV, God makes me glad. Assuming that to be glad is a step beyond merely being happy, content, or fine, by what attitudes and actions can I express this today, for God’s glory?
Genesis 38:1-30. Sexual disarray in Judah’s family, leading to Tamar’s becoming Jesus’ ancestor (see Matthew 1:3). How unconditional is my church’s welcome to all sinners, no exception?
Romans 2:1-16. Verse 4, God’s goodness leads us to repentance. When have I experienced this? How can I thank God for it today? How can I pay it forward?
Matthew 11:25-30. How can others tell I am yoked up with Jesus today, without my speaking of it at all?
