Bible Saturday 1/14: Be Reconciled

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 32:1-11. Verse 7, God as my hiding place. How do I specifically need this today?

Genesis 14:1-24. Abram rescues Lot and is blessed by Melchizedek, the priest-king. What mighty or holy deeds might God be preparing me to perform in the year ahead?

Hebrews 7:1-10. Verse 3, Melchizedek as a mystic Christ-figure, many hundred years before Jesus. If God the Son really predated Abraham and appeared in the Old Testament, how does that impact me here and now?

Matthew 5:21-32. Verses 29 and 30, do I have a sinning eye or hand, offensive to God, that he wants me to get rid of right now?
