Bible Friday 10/20: Armor of God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:129-176. Verse 139, if God were to fill me with burning zeal to serve him, what would that actually look like on this day and for the rest of this year?

I Chronicles 26:1-32. Duties of the trusted Israelites under King David. With what duties has God entrusted me today? What’s at stake in my being faithful to him or not?

Ephesians 6:10-24. Do I need to be more intentional in putting on the whole armor of God each day? What are some wiles of the devil that I must particularly contend against today?

Luke 16:19-31. Parable of the rich man and the beggar. Which man’s situation would I expect to be in, if I were to die today? How shall I make best use of the time remaining to me in this life?
