Bible Wednesday 11/1: Washed in the Blood

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 34:1-22. Verse 4, what are some fears I am experiencing right now, from which I will pray God to deliver me? What’s the lesson for me today, here and now?

II Chronicles 9:1-31. Who was greater, King Solomon or his father King David? What’s the lesson for me today, here and now?

Revelation 7:1-17. Verse 14, washed in the blood of the Lamb. How do I achieve (and maintain) that status? How does it benefit me? How does it obligate me? How would others notice?

Matthew 5:1-12. Jesus teaches us the eight markers of blessedness, eight distinctive graces endowed on God’s people. Which one do I best identify with? Which one seems more out of reach for me?
