Bible Wednesday 11/22: Father, Forgive Them

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 1 KJV, my flesh longs for God. In what way does my body itself need God even more than it needs water? How does God answer this longing, this thirst?

II Chronicles 30:1-27. Hezekiah proclaims a passover to reconcile the divided kingdoms and all the tribes. How shall I pray God to use this Thanksgiving Day as a step to reunify our polarized land?

Revelation 8:1-13. Related, seven angels with trumpets give a warning of woe to all the earth. As even a small part of this would be too much for me, how can I take refuge in God day by day?

Luke 23:26-38. Jesus on the Cross. Verse 34, what is the hardest work of forgiveness that I struggle with? How can I gain from Jesus today the grace to do it and see it through?
