Bible Wednesday 12/6: City of Light

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 90:1-17. Verse 1 KJV, if God is our true dwelling pace forever and always, what are some wrong ways to think about the question of dwelling place? Why does it matter?

Esther 8:1-17. Deliverance of the Jews from Haman’s genocidal plot, with affirmation of their right of self-defense. Does my church assign due significance to the Jewish people (too little, too much)?

Revelation 16:1-11. Blasphemy by those who despise God. What form does this take at the present day? How shall I protect myself from it and defend the honor of God’s name?

Matthew 5:13-20. What shall I do today to obey Jesus’ mandate that I’m to be salt of the earth? And that I’m to be light of the world?
