Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 18:1-50. Verses 6-16, God swoops in for a flying rescue. What issue in my life needs this kind of intervention from him? What would it actually look like, first in my soul and then in my circumstances?
Deuteronomy 7:1-26. Verses 2-6, God warns Israel against compromising with His enemies. When have I Iearned this the hard way? Present application?
III John 1-14. Verse 8 KJV, fellow-helpers to the truth. By what attitudes and actions can I gain such a reputation in my family, my church, and my neighborhood?
Matthew 3:13-17. This coming week, how can I express even a little of the humility shown by Jesus, God’s perfect Son, in submitting to John’s baptism?
