Bible Thursday 12/28: Wise Men Still Seek Him

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 143:1-12. Verse 8, to hear your lovingkindness in the morning. How must I posture myself in order to experience this today?

Jonah 1:1-17. When have I tried to avoid doing something I knew God required of me? What did I learn? Present application?

Revelation 20:1-15. God’s final victory and mankind’s final judgment. Verse 12, what do I want to find written about me in the book of life on that great day? Action point for here and now?

Matthew 2:1-18. How do the heart of the Magi, drawn to Jesus, and the heart of Herod, set against Jesus, vie within me on an ordinary day like today? How shall I think and act in response?
