Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:49-88. Verses 67, 71, 75, over the past year, what affliction have I undergone that drew me closer to God? Who needs the encouragement my story could give them?
Daniel 10:1-21. Daniel learns that God’s angels are battling with evil angels over his destiny. Is there something I have been undecided or conflicted about, where spiritual warfare is ongoing even now?
I Thessalonians 2:13-20. Verse 18, Paul hindered by Satan, just as Daniel was. If I took Satan as seriously as Jesus and the Bible take him, what would I be doing about it today and every day?
Matthew 7:13-20. When Jesus teaches about a good tree and its good fruit, what is he specifically expecting of me? Will I find it hard, laborious, sacrificial, or joyous and natural?
