Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 108:1-13. Geographic precision of God’s good plans for his people. What minute details and intricate complexities of my life shall I entrust to him in faith today?
Daniel 6:1-28. What are the “lions” of fear, failure, loss, lack, malice, injustice, despair, defeat, or destruction that I can ask God to pacify for me today—that he may be glorified?
Revelation 19:11-21. King Jesus on his warhorse, vanquishing all God’s enemies. Is there one battle among all others that I need him to win for me today? What does he expect of me in that fight?
Matthew 6:24-34. Have I been trying to serve two masters? What tends to distract me from seeking first the kingdom of God?
