Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 149:1-9. Verse 6, God wants his people to go about with a sword in their hand. In practical terms, what would this look like in my activities today?
Proverbs 8:1-36. If I wanted my family, my church, and my community to excel in wisdom—for the glory of God—how would I go about encouraging that?
Romans 9:14-26. Verses 20-23, when have I tried to rebel against God, as if the clay rebelled against the potter? What did I learn? Present application?
Matthew 16:1-12. Verse 12, leaven of the Pharisees. What falsehoods is the worldly mind these days subtly trying to mix with Christ’s pure truth, the bread of life? What is my church doing about it?
