Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 5 KJV, is my soul satisfied and centered, or dissatisfied and restless? How is this different from being self-satisfied? How shall I take this up with God?
Proverbs 30:1-33. Verses 5 and 6, how can I be more diligent and consistent in living by God’s word and rejecting spiritual counterfeits or distractions?
I Corinthians 4:1-5. If, in giving my life to Jesus, I became a steward or trustee of his gospel mysteries, what is thereby expected of me today? What qualifies me as a faithful trustee for him?
Matthew 24:45-51. Related, verses 45 and 49, if Jesus wants me more concerned with feeding others than with feeding myself, what does that look like for me from day to day?
