Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 18:1-50. Verses 6-17, if I could call upon God for a flying rescue today, swooping in with the full force of his might, what would I want him to deliver me from?
Exodus 30:1-38. Verses 12 and 16, atonement money to ransom souls. Why is the atonement I have in Jesus Christ better? What if anything do I owe in return today?
I Corinthians 9:19-27. Verse 22, what’s the application for me today of being all things to all persons, the better to share the gospel?
John 8:37-47. Verse 44, in today’s world how does someone’s refusal to know and follow Jesus lead to lust, lies, and murder? Am I myself, no less than others, vulnerable to this?
