Bible Wednesday 5/3: Living Water

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 1:1-6. Verse 1, what would it specifically look like today for me to avoid walking with the ungodly, and yet at the same time love my neighbor and even love my enemies?

Exodus 25:1-40. God’s exacting specifications for the ark of the covenant. What might be his exacting specifications for a local church congregation such as I belong to and serve? Action point?

I Corinthians 7:17-24. Verse 23, bought with a price. Am I content to live out my days, and indeed my eternity, as God’s slave? What if my self-respect balks at such an identity?

John 7:25-39. Verses 37 and 38, by what steps of spiritual growth is Jesus saying I will go from drinking the living water that he gives, to pouring it out for others’ benefit? How am I doing so far?
