Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 89:1-52. Verses 1, 2, 5, 8, 24, 33 KJV, God’s faithfulness; his unstinting, unchanging goodness. When have I most strongly experienced this? Present application?
Leviticus 16:1-34. The scapegoat ritual, supposedly ridding Israel of their sins. When have I fooled myself with an empty religious placebo, and then realized God was showing me a better way? Have I now backslid?
Acts 5:1-11. When have I tried to lie to the Holy Spirit? What’s my risk in doing so?
John 18:1-11. Verse 10, how did Peter’s misguided act of violence, soon followed by his misguided denial of apostleship, help ready him to steward the early church as seen in our study of Acts?
