Bible Wednesday 6/28: Dig Deep

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 140:1-13. Verses 4-6 KJV, the wicked target God’s people. Who are they in today’s world? What is my protection against them?

Numbers 11:1-35. Verses 10-17, Moses’ desperation and God’s grace. When have I felt the Lord was asking too much of me? How did he show up? Present application?

Acts 12:20-24. Self-destruction of King Herod. What’s the lesson for Christians in these times when it seems “the powers that be” are more and more marginalizing Jesus and his church?

Mark 4:13-20. What steps of “soil preparation,” such as I would do for a crop or garden, must I do today in my heart and mind so that the word Jesus plants there will fruitfully grow?
