Bible Sunday 7/30: Know Your Bible

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 70:1-13. Verse 13, what are the admirable and less-admirable qualities of sheep—evident in myself—that cause me to need the shepherding hand of God today?

Hosea 7:1-16. Verses 13-15, how have the sins of our modern culture become their own punishment? What is my church doing about it? My role?

Acts 22:12-21. What attitudes and actions on Ananias’s part equipped him, by God’s grace,, to evangelize the former terrorist Saul of Tarsus? How can I become similarly equipped, starting today?

Mark 12:18-27. Verse 24, how can knowing the Scriptures better, as Jesus knew them, give me access to the power of God? What shall I endeavor to do with that power today?
