Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 25:1-22. Verses 4, 5, 8, 9, 12 KJV, God constantly teaches me. What in particular is he wanting me to learn right now, this summer? What methods and tools does he use? What’s at stake for me?
Numbers 23:1-30. Verse 19, God can’t lie, never changes his mind, can’t be thwarted from his purpose. How does this apply to some need I’m facing at present?
Acts 15:1-21. Verses 8-11, does my church invite people to follow Jesus by faith and grace, or by taking on a yoke no one can really bear? Or some of each?
Mark 7:14-23. Verses 21 and 22, reviewing yesterday, which of these defilements did I entertain or express? What was the result? What’s to be done?
