Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 1, what are the causes and consequences of spiritual drought in our world at this time? Thirsty in body and soul, by what attitudes and actions can I access God’s living water?
Amos 5:1-27. Verses 4-8, 14, 15, so far this year, what have I been seeking with more urgency than I seek God? What’s one thing I can do to start changing that, from this day forward?
Galatians 1:11-24. When have I felt God’s call on my life, to drop everything and follow Jesus? What may be the next step of obedience that he will ask of me?
Luke 9:43-50. How am I susceptible to the self-seeking spirit of who shall be greatest? What childlike quality from when I was about ten, does Jesus want to revive in me today? What will success look like?
