Bible Sunday 10/8: Get Loud

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 98:1-9. Why does God want us to praise him with singing, not just with spoken words and silent thoughts? What shall my song to him today?

I Chronicles 14:1-17. Verses 10 and 14, David inquires of God for his military plans. What important decision am I facing where God’s guidance is needed first?

Ephesians 1:15-23. For what person shall I give this powerful prayer today, substituting his or her name wherever Paul writes “you”? What result shall I anticipate?

Luke 12:49-59. Jesus sending fire on earth. Have I experienced or witnessed this dividing families? How is God glorified thereby, how is his kingdom advanced?
