Bible Friday 10/18: Praying the 'Our Father'

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 19:49-88. Verses 67, 71, 75, how is God using affliction right now to draw me closer to him and show me his grace? Action point for today?

Nehemiah 5:1-19. Nehemiah invokes God’s justice upon the Jews exploiting one another. Does my church stand for righteousness in economic and social affairs?

Galatians 4:1-11. Verses 4-7, shall I accept today the permission given by Jesus to approach God with the warmth and intimacy that says, “Abba, Father”?

Luke 11:1-4. Related, what new realms of peace and power might I find by going deeper with the “Our Father” or Lord’s Prayer as Jesus taught us?
