Bible Friday 10/25: The Wedding Guest

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 137:1-9. Verse 4, today will I let my faith in God transcend my circumstances, or allow the circumstances to subdue my faith? Do I sing to the Lord as an always thing, or just as a sometimes thing?

Nehemiah 12:1-47. Verses 45-47, why does God command us to glorify him with music and singing? What has been lost if sacred music is less important to the people of God today than it was 500 or 2500 years ago?

James 1:1-11. What’s the hardest test of patience, waiting for God to move, that I am undergoing right now? How can I draw on God for more patience today?

Luke 14:7-14. Why does Jesus require me to be humble, meek, and selfless with others, whether I’m hosting them or they’re hosting me? How does this make me a better ambassador for Christ?
