Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 78:1-40. When have I been slow to learn God’s lessons, and careless in obeying his commands, and yet he never lost patience with me even so? Application to present needs?
Isaiah 35:1-10. Verse 4, what are the fears and troubles that weigh heaviest on me today? What would it look like for God to show up and deliver me from these?-
John 1:35-42. Andrew brings his brother Simon Peter to Jesus. Who needs to hear about Jesus from me today?
John 6:1-14. Jesus feeds the 5000 with a little fish and bread contributed by Andrew. What have I been trying to accomplish on my own, which the Lord can accomplish far better if I ask him into the situation?
