Bible Wednesday 11/6: Striving for the Gospel

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verses 6-19, does this sound like a God who is for one moment distant, indifferent, unaware, or uninvolved with his people’s troubles, even bad government? Shall I not therefore face this day with calm trust in Him?

Isaiah 11:1-16. Related, isn’t the righteous king God is sending—as portrayed here—far more authoritative and trustworthy than any election result, whether favorable or unfavorable?

Philippians 1:19-30. Verse 27, what can I specifically do today to testify and exemplify the gospel of Christ?

Luke 18:1-8. Verse 8, when the angels report to Jesus about what they saw me doing on this day, what concrete evidence of my faith will they bring him?
