Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 107:1-43. Verses 23-30, when have I undergone (figuratively) an awful typhoon on the ocean of life, stayed afloat, and come at last into safe harbor? What did I learn? Application to present needs?
Isaiah 48:1-22. Verse 17, taking stock of the year 2024, what is one important lesson God has taught me this year? What is one path he led me into? How do these equip me to glorify him more fully in 2025?
Revelation 18:1-20. Related, how were false treasures and godless values brought down by the great events of 2024? What is my church doing to offer seekers the true and living God instead? My role?
Luke 23:44-49. Is the sacrifice that Jesus made for me on the cross, something I dwell upon… daily… frequently… occasionally? What’s at stake? Resolution for 2025?
