Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 132:1-18. Verse 2, what is the most important vow I have made to God? What specific act of obedience does it require of me today?
Jeremiah 22:1-30. Verse 29, what word of warning or command is God proclaiming to all the earth right now in 2024? What evidence have we that anyone is listening? My duty on this day?
Romans 8:26-39. Verses 26 and 34, what am I facing right now that seems so difficult, deep, and tangled there are hardly words to pray with? What prayer am I then asking Christ and the Spirit to pray for me?
Matthew 16:1-12. What hidden, corrupting yeast of false religion is Jesus warning me away from here? What shall I feed on instead?
