Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 126:1-6. When has God rewarded my patience and long-suffering? What was the harvest (verse 6)? Application to current needs?
Jeremiah 20:1-18. Verse 9, have I ever felt like this, burning with God’s call on my life? If the fire came today, how could I tell if it was from the Lord or the enemy? Would I rather be spared the whole thing?
Romans 8:1-11. What will it actually look like today, if I faithfully walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit?
Matthew 15:21-31. If the price of being near Jesus today were setting aside all my self-importance and just being a puppy eating crumbs, would I do it?
