Bible Saturday 3/2: When Disciples Gather

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 148:1-14. What does the psalmist mean by describing how God’s praise is expressed all around us though not a word is spoken? What will I see or experience today that “silently shouts” God’s praise?

Jeremiah 29:1-32. Verse 11, what uncertainty of my journey and its destination has been making me anxious of late? Why can I feel secure in trusting God to give me a hope and a future?

Romans 11:22-36. Verse 22, related, how have I experienced both the goodness and the severity of God during the present chapter of my life? How can I show him my gratitude today?

Matthew 18:10-20. Verses 19 and 20, gathering in Christ’s name and agreeing in prayer. During March as we approach Passion Week, how can I avail myself more fully of the rewards that Jesus promises here?
