Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 14:1-7. Verses 2-4, do I tend to assume a “good person” exception to this indictment for me and my loved ones, or do I admit it includes me, mine, and all? If the latter, what’s to be done today?
Jeremiah 34:1-22. God’s wrath on Jews who abuse their fellow Jews. By what attitudes and actions shall I keep covenant with God today?
Romans 14:1-13. What obstacles are keeping me from closer fellowship with other followers of Jesus, both within my church and in the wider community?
Matthew 19:1-12. Verse 8, Moses’ concession to the hard-hearted. What would it look like today for me to obey God to the maximum I can, not merely to the minimum allowed?
