Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 46:1-11. Verse 10, if I take a moment right now to be still and listen for God, what will I hear in the stillness? What will I then do about it for the rest of this day?
Jeremiah 46:1-28. Verse 27, what is the specific fear or anxiety that I’m asking God to lift off me today?
I Corinthians 3:1-17. Verse 2, what is the milk of truth that nourished me as a baby Christian, and which I still love? What is the meat of truth that Jesus wants me to eat now and become strong for him?
Matthew 22:15-22. In this heated political year, what does Jesus want me to render to God? How can I know if I’m rendering too much to worldly powers and governments, or not enough?
