Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 78:41-72. Verse 58, what are some of the false gods at the present day which deeply offend the living God? Am I in any way unwittingly taken in by them?
Song of Solomon 4:1-16. What if I could learn to love the risen Lord Jesus with all the sublime feeling expressed here, so that his beauty took possession not only of my mind but of all my emotions?
Luke 24:1-12. Verse 11, related, being really honest, do I find some of what is said or written about Christ too good to be true, beyond what I’m prepared to accept and rely on?
Luke 24:13-49. Verses 27 and 45, if I could learn to discern Jesus on every page of the Bible, all 66 books, how would it make me a better disciple and a better evangelist?
