Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 38;1-22. Verse 15, hope in God. Have I been placing my hope elsewhere? Have I hesitated to hope in God, fearing disappointment? By what attitudes and actions can others see today I am full of Christian hope?
Jeremiah 42:1-22. Verse 20, Jeremiah accuses the Israelites of lying to God. When have I lied to God? What did I learn?
Romans 16:17-27. Verse 25, what mystery or secret has Jesus let me in on? How has it changed me as a person? What is expected of me today in return?
Matthew 24:45-51. Which kind of servant will I be today, the servant who keeps faith with Jesus or the servant who breaks faith with Jesus? By what tests, large and small, will he measure me?
