Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 143:1-12. Verse 10, teach me to do thy will. To prove myself a diligent pupil for God’s lessons, what thoughts and actions are required of me today?
Ezekiel 22:1-31. Verse 30, God seeks a man to stand in the gap. If I set out to be that man today, what are some situations I might face, godly qualities to pray for, sacrifices to expect?
I Corinthians 16:1-11. Verse 9, what specific door has God opened to me, so that I may serve him by serving his people? What adversaries must I contend with in so doing?
John 9:13-23. What are some ways in which the worldly mind, hating Jesus, tries to drive a wedge between parents and children in these times? What is my church doing about it?
