Bible Friday 5/3: All He Does Will Prosper

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 1:1-6. Verse 3, comparing the godly person to a flourishing tree. What qualities or characteristics of such a tree is God inviting me to claim for myself as I meditate upon him today?

Ezekiel 26:1-21. Warning Tyre it has brought about its own destruction. How can I be for a moment concerned that the Lord God, his people, and his church are losing the struggle for mastery of the world?

I Peter 2:1-10. Verses 5 and 9, what are the duties, powers, and privileges of the priesthood into which Jesus has called me? Application for today, here and now?

John 7:10-24. Verse 17 was a life verse for CS Lewis. His master, George MacDonald, said obedience to God is the key of life. What’s one small practical thing I can do today, to follow Jesus more obediently?
