Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 146:1-10. Verse 8, in my immediate surroundings today, where do I see instances of spiritual blindness for which I can ask God to open the eyes of faith, that he may be glorified?
Ezekiel 24:1-27. Forbidding the prophet to show any grief when his wife drops dead. When has God asked of me something I felt was impossible to do and unjust to undergo? What did I learn?
I Peter 1:1-12. Verse 7, related, when has my faith in Jesus Christ been tried by fire? Am I ready for when the next trial comes, as it surely will?
John 9:35-41. Verse 35, do you believe on the Son of God? Who are individuals I personally know, that may now be ready to have me ask them this question?
