Bible Monday 5/13: Heart Transplant

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 30:1-12. Verses 5 and 11, what sorrow, stress, trouble, or anxiety shall I lay on God’s altar today, trusting him to turn it into joy and gladness?

Leviticus 2:1-16. Verse 13, spiritually, what is God reminding me today in the requirement to bring salt with all my offerings?

Ezekiel 36:1-38. Verse 26, how am I doing so far in God’s process of replacing my stony heart with a fleshy heart? Where has there been a real change that others may notice? Where is there more to be done?

John 10:11-21. Verses 11-13, going through a typical day, what situations arise where I must discern carefully between listening to the unreliable hireling or to the one true shepherd, Jesus?
