Bible Saturday 6/22: Self-imposed Misrule

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 121:1-8. Verse 4, how can I be blessed, and be a blessing to others, by recognizing that God never sleeps?

I Samuel 8:1-22. How does present-day politics bear out Samuel’s warning that the people of God weren’t meant to live under a human king? What is my church doing about it?

Acts 12:25 - 13:12. Verse 2, God issues new orders for Barnabas and Paul. What if a change of kingdom assignment was awaiting me and I missed it due to insufficient prayer and fasting?

Mark 4:35-41. What’s the storm in my life at present where I’m appealing to Jesus for peace and calm?
