Bible Thursday 6/20: Peter Unchained

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:89-128. Verse 105, what am I facing right now that calls for the light which God alone can give?

I Samuel 6:1-21. God’s ark proves too much for the idolatrous Philistines and even for some careless Israelites: “Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God?” (Verse 20). Am I sometimes too casual toward Him?

Acts 12:1-19. Verse 5, the fervent prayers of the whole church free Peter from prison. What can I and my church learn from this?

Mark 4:13-20. Verse 19, attitudes that choke the word Jesus wants to plant in my hear. What are some specific examples of this for me, right now today? How can I counteract these and be fruitful for Christ?
