Bible Sunday 7/14: Generation Adrift

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 32:1-11. What can I specifically, concretely do today to express my gratitude to God for having forgiven my sins?

I Samuel 30:1-31. Verse 6, David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. What am I feeling discouraged about right now? How can I go to God for encouragement that is solid and reliable, not just a mood?

Acts 21:26-39. Jews riot at the temple, attempting to lynch Paul. What risk is Jesus asking me to take for him today? What am I waiting for?

Mark 9:30-37. What more could I be doing to put children in touch with Jesus Christ? When children don’t know Christ, what fills the vacuum? Am I resigned to seeing that happen?
