Bible Monday 7/29: Render Rightly

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 77:1-20. Verses 10-12, specifically in this year of 2024 so far, what examples of God’s faithfulness to me can I remember today?

II Samuel 14:1-33. What’s my foremost prayer today for reconciliation of family troubles?

Colossians 1:1-18. Why not take a moment right now to camp on this passage and personalize it, substituting my own name or the name of a loved one wherever the words “you” or “we” occur?

Mark 12:13-17. Taking stock of my political hopes and fears in the dramatic past month, and with another four months to go, how shall I firmly avoid rendering too much to Caesar and too little to God?
