Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 66:1-20. Verse 16, who needs to hear today the testimony of what God has done for my soul? What am i waiting for?
II Samuel 12:1-31. The prophet Nathan rebukes David for his sin. Verse 14, when have my actions brought dishonor on God’s name? What did I learn? Application for today?
Acts 27:39-28:10. Paul ministers to the islanders after the shipwreck. Going through this day, how can I focus more on doing for God and my neighbor, and less on what they can do for me?
Mark 11:27-33. The moral cowardice of the Jewish leaders disgusts Jesus. At this point in my life, what kinds of situations do I face that test my courage to take risks for God and truth? Is it going well or poorly?
