Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 64:1-10. Verses 3 and 7, spiritually considered, what are some of the arrows that the enemy is shooting at me today? What are some arrows God is shooting for my defense?
II Kings 23:1-37. King Josiah carries out his revival, including reinstatement of God’s passover feast. What would revival look like in my church? My role?
Job 31:1-40. Job makes a searching moral inventory of his thoughts and actions, asking how he has sinned with Adam (verse 33). If I did this today, what would I find? How could I then make it right with God?
Luke 9:1-9. Jesus sends out the twelve to preach the kingdom and heal the sick. What is he specifically sending me out to do today?
