Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 51:1-19. Verses 10-12, when God grants me this petition today, what attitudes and actions by me will be evident to others as a result?
II Kings 20:1-21. Hezekiah, praying to be healed of a fatal illness, trusts God to set back the sun’s path across the sky as a sign. Am I today asking less from God than he is prepared to give me?
Job 28:1-28. Job exalts and extols the wisdom that God alone can give. What keeps me from more actively seeking wisdom from the Lord? How could my life become different and better?
Luke 8:19-25.-Verse 21, as a doer of the word, day in and day out, am I “family” to Jesus, or just more of an acquaintance, someone out on the edge of the crowd?
