Bible Thursday 11/10: City of Tears

Psalm 86;1-17. As David prays, "Unite my heart to fear thy name" (verse 11, KJV), are there some ways in which my heart is divided and partly withheld from God?

Isaiah 15:1-9. If Isaiah prophetically assessed the countries and cultures of our own world, what specific sins might he charge against this one or that one? What consequences are evident?

I Thessalonians 2:13-20. Further on yesterday's discussion of Lucifer, do I need to be more alert to Satan's hidden messages or moves against me (verse 18)?

Luke 19:41-44. If Jesus spiritually surveyed the city I live in, what would he weep over? What unseen things would he urge us to open our eyes to?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
