Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 118:1-29. Verse 22, how has this been my story, first refusing to build on Jesus, then deciding to build on him? What difference has it made? Can others tell?
Esther 1:1-22. We begin reading the only book of Scripture that doesn't mention God by name. When has He seemed absent or invisible in my life, but became evident afterward?
Revelation 6:1-8. Verse 8, do I take Hell as seriously as the Bible does? Does my church? Does it matter?
Luke 19:11-27. Am I multiplying for God's glory all the material and spiritual endowments he has given me, or hoarding them, playing it safe? Early resolution for the new year of 2018?
