Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 60:1-12. Verse 4, God gives us a banner of truth. At this time in my life, what identification or declaration is seen on my holy banner?
Micah 1:1-16. Verse 7, what idols need to be pulled down and smashed in my Christian life? In the communal life of my church? In the public life of our country?
Revelation 19:1-10. Verse 9, in taking communion, how am I anticipating this great feast, the marriage supper of the Lamb? Verse 7, what must his bride, the church, do now to make herself ready?
Luke 23:1-25. Verse 18, the mob prefers a political revolutionary to the Son of God. Not a mistake you and I would make, right? Or do American Christians flirt with exactly this?
